The Maypril Fools Bicycle Revolutions Boutique Checkpoint!

What a great weekend! Thanks to RE Load for putting together another successful event. The Boutique hosted a checkpoint, we managed to get quite a few Fools in looking for POINTS! The deal was you had to draw a portrait of your bicycle in crayon. The our panel of judges would critique your portrait and decide if you got 20, 40 or 60 points. Those who were most creative and had the most colors and elements to their portrait got the most points.

Mr. Houser got maximum points for his use of elements and the added Haiku, even though it was plagiarized. He went on to win the overall big prize! Congrats Brett.

This Foolish racer, Darian, got max points as well. His bike was in the woods, for real. He went on to get the second Big Prize of the day! Congrats to him, enjoy the orange wheels.

Andy Zalen was in town looking for points as well. I have known this dude for the better part of two decades. Damn I'm getting old. He is the poster boy for DC Couriers, and international messenger super star. He is definitely one of the people keeping the dream alive. Check him out, he is making it happen.

And then Brutaltron arrived. Thanks for bringing all of your friends Ralph...

And of course we were very happy to see some of our BRevs alumni. Miss Megs showing off some of her creativity for maximum points!

So much fun! And to end the weekend at Tattoo Mom's for Cycle Sunday and the World Premier of Bootleg Sessions 4. There was a little riding and lots of beer drinking.

You can check out some more photos HERE. Thanks again to everybody for playing and having FUN! Keep an ear out for our next Art event which will be highlighting the cream of the crop from the bicycle portraits.

Wow, what a night! Thanks to all of you who cam out to show your love. And I will just go ahead and apologize for anything I might have said or done, it was all in good fun...

The cake chef putting on some finishing touches, can't believe they finished assembling it on site.

The Classic Cakes crew isn't fooling around. That cake looked and tasted amazing, stop by tomorrow and help us finish it, please.

Also, we spent the day today hanging with Wilis and Mary, check out the story here.

Heather Hard At Work

In case you didn't know already, the lovely Heather prints your Bicycle Revolutions apparel. We like to use the Organic Cotton T's and water based screen printing techniques for a minimal environmental and social impact.

She takes great pride in her work...

And Mike was lucky enough to stroll in while she was printing and convinced her to print a cap for him. This is the first of it's kind, I don't even have one.

Party Time! Thanks for coming out last night.

We are really happy that everybody could make it out despite the weather. So good to see friendly faces again, it's been a long cold winter.

There was pizza, trying to get Nate to fill out his sister's jeans...

I "tattooed" Matty, our favorite sales slut.

Just about everybody showed up, who wasn't going to NAHBS.

Even got the Old Heads to turn up, got to show these younginz how it's done. I think we planned a Veteran's Alley Cat for spring time, I better start training I think I said I was going to win. At least the last time I said that, I did!
Good times, it was really good to see everybody last night and kick off our art series for 2010. See you at the next opening...

Opening Party - Tonight

Just a reminder that we are having an opening for Wojo's photos tonight.

We are tired of being cooped up due to inclement weather and have decided that the show must go on! So come on out after 7:00 tonight and have a beer, a slice, and look at some purty pictures.

Bicycles + Art

We have been neglecting the art portion of our bicycles*art*culture identity for too long. But we have good news, this is the month that we get back on track! We will be hosting an opening on Friday, February 26th at 7:00 at the shop.

We are excited to be showing Wojo's photographs this month.
Wojo has been taking photos in philly for like 20 years. He has ridden his bike all over the damn place, touring cross country and documenting his wacky adventures with his camera. He is one of those characters that exists at that sweet spot where philadelphia's cycling and arts community intersect. That little corner of the world that is why we do what we do and how the idea for Bicycle Revolutions sprouted.

He recently took some great pictures of the shop for us and we love them.

So if you are available next Friday night (2/26) come by after 7:00 and see the art, have a beer, and hang out for a while!
